Tax Partner
Tony devotes most of his time to technical research
and planning, particularly in the areas of mergers and
acquisitions of closely held businesses. His research
and in-depth knowledge of the tax laws have allowed
the firm’s clients to creatively utilize entity
status as a means of reducing the overall tax burden
in closely held company situations. Additionally, he
serves on the Board of Directors of Cohen & Company.
Tony is on the Board of Directors for the CSU Alumni
Association, Past-Chairman and current member of the
Advisory Committee to the CSU Accounting Department
and also serves as an Adjunct Professor, teaching tax
courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level
for CSU. In addition, Tony has been the editor of the
Tax Adviser’s August edition of the Tax Clinic
since 1998 and has had numerous speaking engagements.
Tony graduated from Cleveland State University with
a Bachelor’s degree of Business Administration
in Accounting in 1982 and obtained a Masters of Taxation
degree from the University of Akron in 1984. He is Director
and member of the Tax Club of Cleveland, the World Trade
Association - Cleveland, the International Fiscal Association,
the Ohio Society of CPAs and the American Institute
of CPAs.
A sports enthusiast, Tony regularly participates on
various firm-sponsored teams from volleyball to softball.
He also enjoys water sports and is an avid golfer. Tony
is a resident of Broadview Heights, Ohio.
